RAP Active Air Cargo Container

CIMC Qingdao Special Reefer Co., Ltd. recently announced that its independently developed RAP active temperature-controlled air cargo container — the first of its kind in China — has formally passed the airworthiness review of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and been granted a Letter of TSO Design Approval (LODA). The approval marks CIMC's active temperature-controlled aviation equipment obtaining its "passport" to the global aviation market.

In the aviation sector, the FAA represents the highest standard of aviation safety oversight worldwide. Its certification spans multiple dimensions — including compliance with technical standards, system safety, and completeness of test verification — and is exceptionally demanding to attain. Achieving FAA certification means the product meets the highest global standards of aviation safety regulation. It is not only a top-tier global endorsement of the product's safety and technical performance, but also a "golden key" to the international aviation market.

In December 2020, CIMC's RKN active temperature-controlled container became the first in China to break the European and American monopoly, earning CAAC airworthiness certification as the country's first active temperature-controlled air cargo container. In April 2024, CIMC's RAP active temperature-controlled container obtained CTSOA (China Technical Standard Order Approval), becoming China's first CAAC-certified RAP active container. This is not a cross-industry leap, but a natural extension of the industrial chain — the release of more than two decades of technological momentum into the skies.

This FAA approval comes as the global biopharmaceutical landscape undergoes profound transformation. As the world's second-largest nation for innovative-drug R&D, China holds an increasingly important position in the global biopharmaceutical field, and active air temperature-controlled containers — essential equipment for transporting high-end biopharmaceuticals — are poised for a historic development opportunity. Taking this FAA certification as a new starting point, we will: on the equipment side, develop and manufacture a new generation of aviation containers with lower energy consumption and greater intelligence; on the service side, join hands with airlines and logistics enterprises worldwide to build a full-chain operating network; and on the data side, leverage an IoT platform to accumulate global aviation cold-chain transport data, striving to provide customers with value-added services such as predictive maintenance, intelligent dispatch, and carbon-footprint management. In doing so, we will build an integrated "Equipment + Operations + Data" global aviation temperature-control ecosystem and drive the company's high-quality development.
